iAMSTEM Hub at UC Davis is a university wide STEM education effort working across relevant disciplines to improve undergraduate STEM student success through three strategies:
UC Davis has a great number of relevant faculty and staff that, through incredible individual and group efforts, make UC Davis the perfect training ground for interdisciplinary AM+STEM research and activities.
To enhance our capabilities and diversify our perspectives, the Hub participates in transformative projects including:
-The AAU STEM Initiative, a five year project to help institutions assess the quality of STEM teaching on their campuses, share best practices, and create incentives for their departments and faculty members to adopt the most effective teaching methods in their classes. UC Davis is one of eight pilot sites.
– The Bay View Alliance, a consortium of research universities carrying out applied research on the leadership of cultural change for increasing the adoption of improved teaching methods at universities
– The Reinvention Center, a national consortium of research universities dedicated to strengthening undergraduate education through networking, convening, and sharing.
– Keck/PKAL STEM Education Effectiveness Framework Project – This initiative aims to develop a comprehensive, institutional STEM Education Effectiveness Framework that will help campus leaders translate national recommendations for improving student learning and success in STEM into scalable and sustainable actions.
